Farmer leaders have announced their next course of action amidst the ongoing protest, demanding compensation for a protester's death on the Khanauri border of Punjab-Haryana. Joginder Singh Ugrahan, a prominent farmer leader, revealed plans for a tractor march set for February 26, where protests will be held on highways leading to Delhi. Additionally, a mahapanchayat is slated for March 14 at Ramlila Maidan, with calls for compensation to the deceased protester's family and demands to file Section 302 against Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Home Minister Anil Vij.
Sarwan Singh Pandher, another farmer leader, pressed for the registration of a murder case against those accountable for the protester's death at the Khanauri border, emphasizing the need for justice. The agitating farmers, led by Samyukt Kisan Morcha and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, have paused the 'Delhi March' temporarily following clashes resulting in the death of Shubhakaran and injuries to 12 policemen. The farmers' demands encompass legal guarantees for Minimum Support Price (MSP), implementation of Swaminathan Commission recommendations, pension for farmers, farm loan waivers, withdrawal of police cases, justice for victims of Lakhimpuri Kheri violence, and compensation for deceased protesters' families.
